D1X ISO Test-2 Because of some errors in the last attempt to make this test I have repeated the test. This time a few changes to the initial configuration were made. First the focus point on the ISO 125 image was not the same as the rest. Second the depth of field seemed to increase in each image in the last test. The last posted images were also sharpened in Capture2. In actuality that is a no no. No sharpening should be done on a noisy image until the noise is removed. In this test the Aperture was locked at f/11, this gives a big depth of field so that is not an issue. Next the camera was mounted firmly on a ballhead/tripod connected via fire wire 1394 to an IBM laptop. From the laptop all adjustments were made to the camera without ever having to physically touch it. This provided a very stable working environment from which to build the test information. Thanks to Thom Hogan for the guidance! All shots taken with the following: Nikon D1X with the 80-200mm AF-S Zoom Lens Focal Length=80mm Aperture Priority Mode=f/11 Tone=Normal Exposure Comp=none Sharpening=none Meter=matrix WB=Direct Sunlight After checking the images you can view the results in a table and graph format here:
